Pricing & Licensing
A clear, transparent guide to how I work and what it costs. All prices are in euros (EUR), exclude VAT, and are starting points. Final fees depend on the scope, exclusivity, and use of your project.
If your project doesn’t fit a category below, send me a note. I’m happy to put together a tailored quote.
Choose Your Path
There are three main ways to work with me.
1. License an existing pattern. Choose from my portfolio. Best for brands that need beautiful patterns quickly and want to keep costs predictable. Starting at €450.
2. Commission a custom pattern. I design something new specifically for your product, audience, and brand. Best for signature collections and brands with a clear vision. Starting at €1,400.
3. Buy a pattern outright. Full transfer of rights. The pattern becomes yours forever, in every category, everywhere. Starting at €4,500.
Each path is explained in detail below, including what’s included, exclusivity options, and what affects the final price.
1. Pattern Licensing, From My Existing Portfolio
When you license a pattern, you’re paying for permission to use my artwork on your product for a defined time, in a defined category, in a defined region. I keep the copyright.
Three tiers, based on how exclusive you want the design to be.
Non-Exclusive License: from €450 per pattern
- The same pattern can be licensed to other brands at the same time (typically indifferent categories or regions, but not always)
- The pattern remains available in my shops
- Term: 1 year, renewable
- Region: worldwide
- Best for: small brands, makers, single-product launches, gift, stationery, packaging tests
Exclusive License: from €950 per pattern
- You’re the only brand using this pattern in your specific product category, for example wallpaper, bedding, ceramics, or stationery
- I can still license the same pattern to non-competing categories
- Term: 2 years, renewable
- Region: worldwide
- Best for: mid-sized brands launching a defined collection
Fully Exclusive License: from €2,200 per pattern
- You are the only brand using this pattern, across every category and region, for the term
- I retain copyright but cannot license it elsewhere during your contract
- The pattern is removed from my POD shops for the duration
- Term: 2 years, renewable
- Region: worldwide
- Best for: premium brands, signature collections, hero products
What Affects the Final Price
Licensing is priced according to:
- Exclusivity. Exclusive deals are 25 to 35 percent higher than non-exclusive.
- Term length. 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years. Longer terms scale up.
- Geographic scope. Single country, region (EU, North America), or worldwide.
- Product category and complexity. Apparel, wallpaper, and ceramics each carry different production realities.
- Volume of units expected. High-volume deals can shift toward royalty agreements.
- Brand size and distribution. Independent maker versus national retailer.
Send me your specifics and I’ll give you a fixed quote within 48 hours.
2. Custom Pattern Design, Commissioned Work
Custom work means I design something new, specifically for your product, brand, and audience. You receive production-ready files, and the pattern is licensed exclusively to you under the standard terms below.
Standard Terms for Custom Commissions
Every custom commission, whether a single pattern, mini collection, or full collection, includes the same baseline licensing terms.
- Exclusivity: The pattern is exclusive to you in your product category, worldwide, for 2 years from delivery.
- Marketing rights: Full promotional and marketing use of the pattern, on the licensed product, for the duration of the term.
- Renewal: You can renew the exclusivity at 50 percent of the original commission fee per additional year.
- Upgrade to full buy-out: At any time during the term, you can convert to a full buy-out (all rights transferred to you forever, in every category, worldwide) for 60 percent of the original commission fee, paid as a one-time top-up.
- After the term ends: If you don’t renew or upgrade, the exclusivity expires. I may then license the pattern non-exclusively to non-competing brands. I will not license it to direct competitors in your category, ever.
- Copyright: I retain copyright unless we agree to a buy-out. You receive a clear license, in writing, with all of the above spelled out.
If you’d prefer different terms (longer exclusivity, narrower category, or exclusive only in your country, for example), that’s negotiable and reflected in the final quote.

3. Bespoke Wall Murals & Non-Repeating Artwork: from €1,800
For wallpaper companies, hospitality projects, and interior brands that need a one-off, large-scale, non-repeating illustration (a feature wall or a panoramic mural). My background in interior architecture means I think about pattern, scale, and atmosphere from the start.
- Single mural artwork up to 5 metres wide
- Includes site dimensions, sketch concepts, and one round of refinement
- Print-ready files at production resolution
- Same baseline licensing terms as custom commissions (2 years category-exclusive, worldwide), unless we agree otherwise
- For larger murals, multi-wall projects, or hand-painted on-site work, contact me for a custom quote
4. Pattern Buy-Out, Full Rights Transfer: from €4,500
If you want to own the pattern outright, with no expiry, no category limits, and no geographic restrictions, you can buy it. After purchase, the pattern is fully yours: you can register it as a trademark, sell it on, modify it, use it forever, anywhere, on anything.
- All copyright transfers to you (with a written assignment of rights)
- I cannot reuse, sell, or license the pattern again
- I will remove it from all my shops and portfolio (or display it only with your permission, credited as “designed for [your brand]”)
Pricing depends on the pattern’s complexity and whether it has been previously licensed. Custom buy-outs (commission plus buy-out together) start at €5,500.
5. Illustration Commissions
For one-off illustrations rather than repeat patterns. Packaging artwork, editorial illustrations, branded artwork, single-use motifs.
| Type | Starting From |
|---|---|
| Single spot illustration | €350 |
| Packaging illustration (single product) | €750 |
| Packaging illustration (range, 3 or more products) | €1,800 |
| Book or editorial illustration | €450 per page |
| Brand illustration set (5 or more assets) | €2,200 |
All illustration commissions include up to two rounds of revisions and final files in your chosen format.
6. Add-Ons & Additional Services
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| Additional colorway of an existing pattern | €180 |
| Recoloring an existing pattern to match your brand palette | €220 |
| Coordinating blender pattern (added to a single design) | €450 |
| Lifestyle product mockup (per mockup) | €120 |
| Tech-pack and repeat verification document | €150 |
| Layered editable PSD source file | included |
| Vector conversion (AI / EPS), if specifically required | €250 per pattern |
| Rush delivery (under 2 weeks) | plus 30 percent |
| Same-day quote | included |
| License extension per additional year | 50 percent of original license fee |
| Geographic expansion (per added region) | plus 25 percent of license fee |
| Category expansion (per added category) | plus 40 percent of license fee |
7. Royalty-Based Licensing (Optional Alternative)
For larger brands and longer collaborations, I’m open to royalty-based deals as an alternative to flat-fee licensing.
- Royalty rate: 5 to 8 percent of wholesale price (negotiable based on volume and exclusivity)
- Advance against royalties: typically €500 to €2,000 paid upfront, recoupable from royalties earned
- Reporting: quarterly sales reports required
- Minimum guarantees: negotiable for exclusive deals
Royalty deals work best for home decor, bedding, and wallpaper, products with long shelf lives. They are less suitable for fast fashion or short seasonal runs, where I generally recommend flat fees.
What’s Always Included (No Extra Charge)
- Initial consultation call
- Written quote within 48 hours
- A clear, signed contract before work begins
- All preparation, sketching, and concept work
- Color palette and palette reference document
- Production-ready repeat tile (for patterns)
- High-resolution files at 300 dpi minimum (TIFF and PNG)
- Layered PSD source file
- Two rounds of refinement on the chosen direction

- 300 dpi TIFF (CMYK or RGB, your choice)
- High-resolution PNG with transparent background
- Layered PSD (Photoshop)
- PDF preview sheet with palette and repeat
- Optional: Pantone color reference, technical repeat tile in your specified size
If your printer or production partner specifically requires vector files (AI or EPS), I can arrange a vector conversion as a paid add-on. Just let me know what they need at the start of the project.
My Process, Step by Step
1. Inquiry (you to me). You send me a brief via the contact form or email. The more you can tell me (product, audience, palette ideas, references), the faster I can quote.
2. Quote and proposal (within 48 hours). I send a fixed-fee quote, timeline, and proposal outlining what’s included and what’s not.
3. Contract and deposit. Once you approve, I send a contract. A 50 percent deposit is required to schedule the project. Licensing-only deals are paid 100 percent upfront.
4. Concept stage. I deliver 2 to 3 concept sketches or directions for you to choose from.
5. Refinement. Two rounds of feedback and refinement on your chosen direction are included. Additional rounds beyond this are billed at €75 per hour.
6. Final files. I deliver all production-ready files in your specified formats.
7. Final payment. The remaining 50 percent is due within 14 days of final delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we negotiate?
The starting prices listed are firm for small projects. For larger collaborations, longer terms, or multi-pattern collections, there’s flexibility, particularly when committing to volume.
What if we want to extend a license after it expires?
A renewal is 50 percent of the original license fee per additional year. If you let the license lapse and want to relicense later, the original fee applies again at current rates.
Can we use the pattern in marketing and on social media?
Yes. Promotional and marketing use of the licensed pattern (in advertising, social media, lookbooks, your website) is included with every license, as long as it relates to the licensed product.
Do you take credit on the product?
By default, no. You don’t have to credit me on the product itself unless we agree to. However, I do retain the right to display the work in my portfolio and on social media unless you’ve purchased a buy-out, in which case credit and portfolio use are negotiated separately.
What happens if you create something for us and we don’t like any of the concepts?
The deposit covers concept development. If none of the initial directions work and we mutually decide to part ways at the concept stage, I keep the deposit and you walk away with no further obligation. This is rare. Most projects find their footing within the second concept round.
Can we request a specific style or reference other artists’ work?
You can share inspiration and references, but I won’t copy another artist’s work or imitate a recognizable style. I bring my own voice. That’s why you’re hiring me.
Do you offer rush projects?
Yes. Anything under two weeks carries a 30 percent rush fee. Send me your deadline and I’ll confirm whether it’s possible.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes. All contracts are in English. Payment in EUR is preferred.
Can we license multiple patterns at a discount?
Yes. Licensing 3 or more patterns in a single deal earns a 10 percent discount. 5 or more patterns earns 15 percent.
What if we love a pattern but our budget is below your starting fee?
Tell me anyway. Some projects are right for me even at a lower fee, like small ethical brands, charitable projects, or first-time collaborations that could grow into something bigger. The worst I’ll say is “not this time.”
Do you sell on Patternbank or other agency marketplaces?
Currently I work directly with brands and through my own platforms. If you’d prefer to source through an agency, I can recommend partners.
What rights do you keep when we license a pattern?
I retain copyright and the right to display the work in my portfolio. I cannot license the same pattern in a way that competes with your contract. The specifics are spelled out clearly in our contract.
Is everything in writing?
Always. Every project, even small licenses, comes with a signed contract before work begins or files are released. This protects both of us.
Ready to Start?
Send me a message via the contact page with:
- Your brand and what you make
- The product or project you’re working on
- Which pattern(s) you’re interested in (if licensing) or a brief description (if commissioning)
- Your timeline
- Your budget or budget range, if you have one
I’ll reply within 48 hours with a quote or follow-up questions.
If you’re not sure which option fits, whether that’s licensing, commission, or buy-out, just describe your project and I’ll recommend the path that makes sense for your scale and goals.
All prices on this page are in euros (EUR), exclude VAT, and are valid for the current calendar year. Final fees are confirmed in writing in your project quote.
